April Fool's Day or All Fool's Day is a day celebrated almost in every country on April 1st. The day marked by the commission of hoaxes and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, family members, enemies and neighbours, or sending them on a fool's errand. The main aim of which to embarrass the gullible. It's origins are uncertain. Reference to April Fool's Day can be found as early as 1500s. However, these early references were infrequent and tended to be vague and ambiguous. Shakespeare, writing in the late sixteen and early seventeen centuries, made no mention of April Fool's Day, despite being,as Charles Dickson Jr. put it, a writer who delights in fool in general.
